Barcelona eyeing Denis Zakaria for June 2022

Sergio Busquets' time at Barcelona has been filled with highs and lows. The Spaniard, who has won the Champions League, World Cup, and European Championship three times, is nearing the end of his career, and Barça must find successors quickly. Denis Zakaria of Borussia Monchengladbach has piqued Barcelona's interest. Next summer, the 24-year-old defensive midfielder will be a free agent.

Zakaria made his name with Young Boys before being purchased by Gladbach for upwards of €10 million in 2017 and has been a regular with the German club ever since. With his contract set to expire in June, the Swiss have been linked with a move to Manchester United or Arsenal. However, Barcelona's strongest rival in this race is AS Roma. Zakaria, who is 6'3′′ and boasts great long-range passing and all-around defensive abilities, is as technical as they come.
