Barcelona suffers an injury blow! Joao Cancelo limps out of La Liga match

In the first minutes of Barcelona's La Liga matchup against Las Palmas on Thursday, Joao Cancelo had to be substituted. Cancelo was included in Barcelona's starting lineup for their La Liga opener against Las Palmas in 2024. But the Manchester City defender on loan could only play for ten minutes before being replaced by Andreas Christensen due to a leg injury.  Since leaving City in the summer, Cancelo has been a vital member of Xavi's squad, so Xavi will be praying that his injury is not too serious. The adaptable defender, who can play both right and left back, has established himself as a regular member of the squad. 

When Cancelo's current loan agreement expires at the end of the season, Barcelona is reportedly eager to cling onto him. Following the game, Barcelona is anticipated to provide an update on Cancelo's injury. On Sunday, the Catalans return to action when they play Barbastro in the Copa del Rey.
