Barcelona takes down Getafe 5-2

Barcelona declared that they are still in the race for the title with a big win over Getafe by 5-2 at Camp Nou. Lionel Messi missed out on scoring a hat-trick on Thursday and helped hold back Getafe in their late fightback. Messi deferred the last penalty to  Antoine Griezmann rather than complete his hattrick himself to put an end to the match with an easy win.

Barca recently defeated Athletic Bilbao to win the Copa del Rey and wish for another trophy before the season ends and are five points behind leaders Atletico Madrid with a game in hand. With a tight La Liga race there is no room for error as Real Madrid is also in the race. Messi has scored 33 goals so far in this season across the competition and has 25 goals in the league which is more than what the whole Getafe team has scored in the whole season.
