Barcelona thrashes Almeria and Pique said his final goodbyes to Camp Nou

This week, Pique stated that he will be leaving Barcelona, and tonight was his final home match for La Blaugrana. The seasoned defender was given a standing ovation by the Camp Nou fans at the conclusion of the game. The hosts of Xavi only managed three points on the night, with Pique taking centre stage after Robert Lewandowski missed a penalty shot early on.

Before the break, Barcelona struggled to find the back of the net before Ousmane Dembele dribbled into the area and put them ahead shortly after the restart. Later on, after Ansu Fati's attempt had been saved, Frenkie de Jong poked home, calming Barcelona's fears. Late on, Pique left the field, preventing Fati and Lewandowski from scoring the third goal. When Barcelona was given an easy penalty for a handball by Kaiky, they had the potential to take the lead right away, but Lewandowski scuffed his shot wide and off the outside of the post.
