Bayer Leverkusen scored late to draw 1-1 against Augsburg

Leverkusen scored late in the match to deny hosts Augsburg their first win in 20 matches over the Bayer Leverkusen and the last minute equalizer was scored as the visitors settled for 1-1 draw rather than a 1-0 defeat at the hands of Augsburg.

Goalkeeper Niklas Lomb had gift-wrapped a goal to give Augsburg a lead early in the match, this was Lomb’s first league start of the season and he ill-timed his clearance kick and rolled it to striker Florian Niederlechner who headed the ball into an empty net and the time was later running out for Leverkusen to maintain their lead over Augsburg and former Leicester City winger Demarai Gray set up Tapsoba to score later and leave Augsburg in 13th place and stay one place away from Champions League.
