Bayern explain resignations on title day: "Kahn was very emotional"

Bayern Munich president Herbert Hainer called a press conference on Sunday in which he explained what led him to sack executive director Oliver Kahn and sporting director Hasan Salihamidzic after winning the title.

"It's fair to say that the season didn't go as we wanted, especially in the second half. With that in mind, we spoke with sporting directors and management about how we were going to deal with the warning signs", he began by stating.

"That's why we decided to go our separate ways with Oliver Kahn and Hasan. We've named Jan-Christian Dreesen as Oliver Kahn's successor, and I'm delighted," he continued.

Herbert Hainer also assumed that Hasan Salihamidzic "accepted very, very well" the decision... unlike Oliver Kahn: "Unfortunately, it didn't go so well. He was very emotional and we didn't reach an agreement for a friendly agreement", he added, in statements reproduced by the German portal TZ.
