As Bayern Munich rallied from a goal down to defeat FC Copenhagen of Denmark 2-1 in their Champions League Group A match on Tuesday at the Parken Stadium, Thomas Mueller, a substitute, set up the game-winning goal for fellow substitute Mathys Tel. The 34-year-old Mueller joined the game in the 77th minute as his team was struggling to create against the reigning Danish champions. He utilised his enormous experience to first outpace the defender and then outmuscle it before setting up Tel to score the game-winning goal.
Due to Copenhagen's tight defence neutralising the threat posed by the speed of Kingsley Coman and Leroy Sane on the Munich flanks, Bayern could not able to generate a shot on goal until late in the first half. Because Bayern failed to stop Viktor Claesson's shot in the 56th minute, the home team unexpectedly took the lead. Midfielder Lukas Lerager then gave the Danish champions the lead with a deftly bouncing drive.
