Bayern Munich defeated Borussia Dortmund by four to take the lead

Bayern gave Thomas Tuchel his first victory by defeating Borussia Dortmund 4-2 at home. By the 25th minute, Bayern was up 3-0 thanks to a surprising own goal from Dortmund goalkeeper Gregor Kobel and two of Thomas Mueller's typical efforts. Despite two late consolation goals, Kingsley Coman struck a fourth goal shortly after the break to put Bayern two points ahead of the guests.

After Serge Gnabry fouled Jude Bellingham in the box, Dortmund was awarded a penalty kick, which Emre Can score, and Dutch attacker Donyell Malen added a second goal in the final minute of the match. Dortmund entered the game in the unusual position of holding the top spot, one point ahead of Bayern, who had last week fired coach Julian Nagelsmann in favor of Tuchel but failed miserably at the attempt and gave up the top spot to Bayern Munich.
