Bayern Munich squashes Bayer Leverkusen

Thomas Muller and Robert Lewandowski have shown their support for Leroy Sane. It was because the winger was replaced and later taken off. It happened during Bayern Munich's 2-1 triumph away to Bayer Leverkusen.

With Lewandowski scoring both of his side's goals, Bayern secured 2-1. It includes a late winner. However, much of the post-match discussion was focused on Leroy Sane. After Sane entered the fray in the 32nd minute as a substitute for the bruised Kingsley Coman, he was taken off in the 68th minute. He was replaced with Jamal Musiala, a youngster coming on.

Hansi Flick, Bayern manager, described after the game that Sane was the only candidate to be taken off. He also stressed that the 24-year-old wasn't being penalized. It was reported that Flick also said that it wasn't a punishment.
