Bayern Munich thrashes Schalke 4-0

While all the title rivals fell in their respective matches after RB Leipzig, Bayer Leverkusen, and Borussia Dortmund, Bayern Munich took a very important lead with a 4-0 thrashing of Schalke. In an attempt to take the Bundesliga title ninth time Joshua Kimmich’s three assists during the night placed the team ahead of its rivals. Robert Lewandowski delivers yet again for the eight-game consecutively as the Bundesliga Champions extend their lead to seven points. Bayern coach Hansi Flick celebrates the third back-to-back wins in eight days.

Kimmich first set up Thomas Muller for a header to open at the 33rd minute. Later he struck again and assisted Lewandowski in the 54th minute making it his 23rd goal in 14 matches and lastly handed Müller one more beautiful shot which he finished off with a free-kick in the 89th minute. David Alaba’s long-range shot later made the score 4-0.
