Benevento unable to win against 10 men Sassuolo

Sassuolo was looking to get back to winning ways when Roberto De Zerbi’s men stepped on the pitch. While Filippo Inzaghi’s men were also out for blood and created many opportunities for themselves on the field but it amounted to nothing.  Sorcerers were held back by Andrea Consigli who denied them the opportunity to score to ensure they stayed in their place.

For Domenico Berardi opened the score after missing out on an opportunity to score before as Lorenzo Montipò defended the goal well but could not do so second time as the Italy international managed to score in just 8 minutes. By the time half time came the hosts failed to create opportunities while Benevento failed to convert them. The momentum of the match changed when Lukas Haraslin was handed a red card for his ruthless tackle on Gaetano Letizia but Consigli successfully protected the post to secure their win.
