Benzema ruled out of the derby against Atletico

Real Madrid trained this Saturday at the Valdebabas training complex in the run up to the match against Atletico. Lucas Vazquez and Karim Benzema were absent from the session.

Benzema's attempts to arrive in time for the derby have been unsuccessful. Saturday was no different to the rest of the week and the Frenchman was not seen working on the pitch at the start of Real Madrid's training session, which was open to the media. Lucas Vazquez, meanwhile, was seen working on his own on the training pitch.

With this session, Real Madrid completed their training for the match against Atletico Madrid. Throughout the day, Carlo Ancelotti will finalise the team that will start the match at the Metropolitano.

It will be the third game that Benzema has missed, injured in the Champions League opener in Glasgow against Celtic, and out against Mallorca and Leipzig.
