Torino’s chances of bolting relegation have been boosted after beating fellow struggler Caligari 1-0 in Serie A this Friday. With Torino moving five points clear of 18th place Cagliari and the relegation zone, Brazilian defender Bremer managed to score the winner in the 76th minute.
Davide Nicola had been the in charge for four successful draws and it was for the first time that Torino could win under him. Despite having better chances, Caligari couldn’t make it with the momentum shifting in the closing stage.
Torino scored with Rolando Mandragora swinging in a corner from the right and Bremer heading in at the back post. Fiorentina could move 10 points above the relegation zone, post-winning 3-0 at home against Spezia. Gaetano Castrvilli was the game-changer who came off the bench on the stroke of halftime.
