Borussia Dortmund falls to a 3-2 defeat against Werder Bremen

Borussia Dortmund were appearing to be heading towards a 2-0 win at home to Werder Bremen. But the Black and Yellows lost their edge in stoppage time and landed a loss. Borussia Dortmund were the second best for the majority of the game. Despite that, they seemed to have the game under control, thanks to the long-range efforts of Julian Brandt and Raphael Guerreiro. But they assumed a victory too soon, slipping away from the game and giving Werder Bremen a chance to pull off an incredible yet well deserved comeback win. In 89 minutes, Lee Buchanan had halved the deficit. Then, Niklas Schmidt equalised four minutes later. Oliver Burke stepped up the score to 3-2.

Edin Terzic’s side got lucky at half time as Julian Brandt hit the bottom corner with a finish from the edge of the box. The goal was unforeseen, however, it gave the Black and Yellows a significant upper hand going into the break.
