Borussia Dortmund took over Eintracht Frankfurt 5-2

Borussia Dortmund kicked off their 2021/22 Bundesliga campaign with a 5-2 win over Eintracht Frankfurt in front of 25,000 fans at Signal Iduna Park. The Black and Yellows were simply too hot to handle, with the offensive combinations of Erling Haaland, Marco Reus, and Thorgan Hazard running rings around the opponent’s backline from the start.

A Felix Passlack’s own goal four minutes later did not deter them, as Thorgan Hazard rifled them back into the lead in the 32nd minute after Reus linked with the 21-year-old Haaland, who had scored a hat-trick in their German Cup first-round triumph last week, for yet another counter-attack. On the hour, Gio Reyna added a fourth goal with a tap-in, leaving Eintracht completely at the mercy of the bursting Dortmund rushes that kept coming.
