Celta Vigo missed the chance to climb closer to the Champions League qualification places after the last placed Levante held back the ninth-placed team in the recent Spanish League fixture at home. Franco Cervi had given the hosts a good lead to defend at the 67th minute but Levante’s Roger Martí leveled the score with a late goal at the 82nd minute to hold back Celta.
Levante recently drowned defending champion Atlético Madrid as well to record their second League win of the season. Levante is still nine points adrift of safety while Celta is six points behind seventh-placed Real Sociedad. Celta ended their three straight winning run at Balaídos, the last time they lost at home was against Valencia in early December.
