Brazil defeats Cameroon 1-0 at the World Cup

On Friday, Cameroon defeated Brazil in the World Cup group stage for the first time in 24 years thanks to a goal by Vincent Aboubakar. Despite this defeat, the five-time champions were still able to win the group and knock out the Africans. Aboubakar was dismissed after receiving a second yellow card for celebrating by taking off his shirt after beating Brazil goalkeeper Ederson with a strong header. The captain of the Cameroon squad then flung his shirt to the ground close to the corner flag and waited for his men to run over.

The Selecao will take on South Korea in the round of 16 after defeating Serbia and Switzerland to get to the knockout round. For the eleventh time in a row, Brazil won its World Cup group. It finished tied with Switzerland for sixth place with six points.
