Brentford overcame Aston Villa 2-1 on Sunday after coming back from a goal down. Aston Villa got off to a terrific start, taking the lead in the 16th minute thanks to striker Danny Ings. Brentford equalized in the 42nd minute with Yoane Wissa, then completed the comeback with a goal from Mads Roerslev Rasmussen in the 83rd minute.
The Aston Villa attack made many attempts to equalize but were rebuffed by the Brighton defense. Villa manager Steven Gerrard was upset after his team surrendered twice and failed to gain anything from the game. He told VillaTV, "I'm really disappointed and frustrated at the same time. I don't think we should have lost the game." Brentford has now climbed to 12th place, above Villa.
