Brighton beat rivals Crystal Palace

On March 15, March scored the game-winning goal in the 15th minute to tie the Seagulls with sixth-place Liverpool in points with one game remaining. As his horse Energumene won the Champion Chase at Cheltenham, it gave Brighton chairman Tony Bloom a double reason to celebrate. But, Palace's issues are becoming worse as their 11-match losing streak continues.

Due to the injuries to backup Sam Johnstone and regular number one Vicente Guaita, they were obliged to give young goalkeeper Joe Whitworth his professional debut. Whitworth was the youngest goalkeeper to play in a Premier League game since Ben Alnwick played for Sunderland in December 2005 at the age of 19 years and 15 days. Brighton was unable to penalize the former Palace ballboy for his shaky first headed clearance beyond the area. While Palace hadn't managed a shot on goal in their previous three games, Jason Steele was the busier goalkeeper in the opening minutes.
