Bundesliga: Bayern reduced Dortmund's lead to five points

Bayern Munich closed the gap on leaders Borussia Dortmund to just five points after dispatching Schalke 04 3-1 on Saturday evening.

Bayern got the opener in the 11th minute thanks to an own goal by Jeffrey Bruma but Schalke levelled matters in the 25th minute through Ahmed Kutucu.

The celebrations were short-lived though as Robert Lewandowski restored for the hosts lead two minutes later and Serge Gnabry sealed the three points three minutes before the hour.

Borussia Dortmund were instead forced to a 3-3 on home soil against Hoffenheim. The league leaders, after an incredible 3-0 lead, capitulated in the last quarter of an hour as Ishak Belfodil pulled a goal back for Hoffenheim in the 75th minute while Pavel Kaderabek made it 3-2 seven minutes before time, while Belfodil completed the comeback three minutes before time with his second of the day.
