Cagliari celebrate 50th Scudetto anniversary

A boiling Amsicora was not left disappointed as their Rossoblu heroes secured the Scudetto with two match days to go in Serie A 1969-70 and the win, sealed by Gori and talisman Riva, remains the solitary triumph in Casteddu’s history.

Yesterday, the city celebrated the 50th anniversary since the unforgettable evening and President Tommaso Guilini recalls the ‘fairy tale’ in an interview with Sky Sport Italia.

“It was a beautiful day for all of us, I remember it as the most beautiful fairy tale that my dad used to tell me as a child, even if I didn’t understand much about the social dynamics at the time,” he told Sky Sport Italia. “In these days, those emotions return. That Cagliari were a group of friends; you can still see the chemistry between them.”
