Callum Wilson’s double strike help Newcastle win over Everton

Newcastle United striker Callum Wilson helped them towards a victory over Everton who was handed their second Premier League defeat after being defeated by Newcastle United by 2-1 at St. James' Park. Carlo Ancelotti’s goalkeeper Jordan Pickford was dropped during the lineup and was replaced by Swedish international Robin Olsen, who made his debut after joining them on loan from AS Roma. Robin Olsen was in for a tough match saving a shot by Allan Saint-Maximin half an hour in. Everton was without injured James Rodriguez and suspended Richarlison and the absence of such player cost Everton while Wilson charged ahead to score in the 54th minute and struck again past Olsen by scoring from a cross from Ryan Fraser. Later Dominic Calvert-Lewin successfully lessened the gap by scoring once in stoppage-time. This win places Newcastle at 10th position with 11 points and Everton climbed down to second, three points behind Liverpool.
