Cameroon Football Federation rejects Samuel Eto'o's proposed resignation

Cameroonian Football Federation president Samuel Eto'o submitted his resignation at a meeting in Yaounde, but it was rejected by the executive committee. The Executive Committee also reaffirmed its confidence in the former Real Madrid and Barcelona player, among others.

The Federation detailed in a statement: "The members of the Executive Committee unanimously rejected the resignation of the President of the Cameroon Football Federation, reiterating their confidence in him to continue with the same momentum the work of reconstruction and development of Cameroonian football, from the grassroots to the top, as he said he had planned in his project".

Eto'o's decision follows Cameroon's elimination from the last 16 of the Africa Cup of Nations. The African team lost to Nigeria by 2 goals to 0, but they were already on the verge of failing to advance from the group stage.
