Cameroon’s Vincent Aboubakar was sent off the bench to save his side by shooting one brilliant goal and setting up another as they battled hard to draw 3-3 with Serbia on Monday, a conclusion that kept both sides’ thin probability afloat at the FIFA World Cup 2022.
Serbia’s Strahinja Pavlovic and Sergej Milinkovic-Savic shot two goals in first-half stoppage time and Aleksandar Mitrovic netted after the break to level out Jean-Charles Castelletto’s opener goal for Cameroon at Al Janoub Stadium.
Aboubakar was called off the bench in the 55th minute and threw in a goal for Cameroon with a brilliant scooped chip over the keeper in the 63rd before teeing up Eric Maxim Choupo-Moting to rescue them with a draw three minutes later. The draw killed a course of eight consecutive World Cup losses for the African team.
