Celta Vigo clinched survival with a surprise 2-1 win over champions Barcelona

Celta knew they needed to win to save their place in the top division as they hit the pitch in 17th place. Carlos Carvalhal's team gained control as Veiga scored twice either side of halftime. Shortly before halftime, the 21-year-old blasted into the bottom-left corner to set up a riot at the Balaidos, and in the 65th minute, a fortunate cross sailed in off the far post.

Real Valladolid was eliminated while Celta held on to secure a 13th-place finish as Barca finished the season 10 points ahead of Real Madrid, who finished second. Franck Kessie beat Ivan Villar on a rebound in the 11th minute, giving Barca the advantage. However, a VAR review revealed the midfielder was offside. Celta came close, but Oscar Rodriguez missed his first-time attempt by a hair, while Robert Lewandowski's curled effort brushed Villar's left post.
