The confirmation was given by the coach of the Scots, Ange Posticoglou, who admits to be a heavy blow for the team.
"It's a blow for us because, in addition to the team aspect, he was enjoying his football and wanted to keep playing. Jota will work hard on his recovery and we will try to get him back as soon as possible," said the coach.
Jota has eight goals and six assists in 16 games for Celtic, in what has been, so far, the striker's best season, loaned by Benfica, as a senior.
