Celtic: the future to be decided vs Bayer Leverkusen

The reverse fixture was won by the German team in convincing fashion, with a 4-0 win at Parkhead. This time around, a lot is riding on the result of this game and it could end up deciding the fate of the group.

If Celtic end up losing against Bayer Leverkusen and Real Betis defeat Ferencvaros in the other game, then the Hoops cannot finish higher than third in the group.

Fortunately for Ange Postecoglou’s side, they have European football to look forward to, beyond the Europa League group stage. Whether it will be in this competition or the Europa Conference League remains to be seen but it is a huge positive for the Hoops regardless.
