Celtic’s defender inks a three year deal with Bundesliga side

Former Celtic’s player Jonjoe Kenny has marked a three-year contract at Bundesliga side Hertha Berlin. Kenny joins up with one more former Celtic players, Dedryck Boyata, to help out the Berlin side revamp following an underwhelming 2021/22 season. They had to overcome the relegation threat all season long but survived the threat of second-tier after a match-up with Hamburg where Boyata himself scored one of the critical goals in a 2-1 total win.

The right-back didn't have a good time at Celtic, after a loan deal in January 2021. He was marked similarly as Neil Lennon was going out the club and never truly figured out how to dazzle on the pitch. He then found an opportunity with Everton under Frank Lampard but dismissed the offer. Now the 25-year-old has a new home for the next three years in Germany.
