The London club were crowned King of Europe in May after a 1-0 win over English rivals Manchester City in the Champions League final in Porto. But while their earnings rose from £387.8m to £416.8m thanks to a rise in broadcast revenue, Chelsea said they still made a loss after playing games without crowds because of Covid-19, with a reduction in profits from player sales also hurting your balance sheet.
Chelsea continue to be financially supported by Fordstam Limited, a company controlled by club owner Roman Abramovich, with their accounts saying "the company is dependent on Fordstam Limited for their ongoing financial support".
