In the Champions League, last season Chelsea had roared to their second Champions League title in 2020-21 and the key role in the squad was played by German stopper Antonio Rudiger, who elevated Chelsea’s tactical strength and superior defending. With his impressive performance Thomas Tuchel’s side even conceded less during the whole campaign and in the end, beat Premier League champions as well with the same strategy.
Rudiger has now entered the last year of his current contract with Blues and hasn't yet inked an extension with the London club. Sensing his hesitation to sign a deal with Blues, European heavyweights have lined up to get his signature. The big names include Bayern Munich, Juventus, and Real Madrid. On the other hand, Chelsea has expressed interest in Jules Kounde who could serve as Rudiger’s potential replacement even thus creating more interest as many clubs now want to bring over Rudiger.
