Graham Potter’s introductory game as Chelsea manager finished on a disappointing note as the side tied 1-1 at home against Salzburg in the Champions League on Wednesday, leaving the English team undergoing a tough task to ascend from its group. Raheem Sterling launched an attacking left wing back in an early tactical decision by Potter and shot home with a classy finish to bestow Chelsea the lead in the 48th minute at Stamford Bridge. However, Chelsea was not able to convert the lead into a victory and had to pay a hefty price to the Austrian champions, who levelled score through Noah Okafor in the 75th minute.
Last week, Chelsea was defeated 1-0 at Dinamo Zagreb. Chelsea has only one point from its opening two matches in Group E and now counters continual matches against AC Milan after the international break. Salzburg has tied both of its matches with a 1-1.
