Chelsea took away a 2-1 winner, owing to the fabulous goals from Kai Havertz and Ben Chilwell. Thomas Tuchel has advised on that VAR made the right decision to cancel out Maxwel Cornet's late equaliser. The German coach depicted Jarrod Bowen's contact on Edouard Mendy as a clear foul in the build-up to Cornet's strike.
Reece James troubled his team with a bad head before Mendy came swiftly out and parried the ball away and then Bowen came into contact with the Senegalese player. The Chelsea stopper quickly suffered pain as the ball finally went back its way to Cornet to finish. The goal was initially recorded before VAR intervened, and referee Andy Madley eventually ruled it out. Bowen's touch was looking pretty light and many others doubted Mendy's verdict on preventing the goal without the challenge.
