Chelsea secured a 1-0 victory over Crystal Palace

Expectations were high from Chelsea who had won the Champions League title last season with a fiery display beating the Premier League champions Manchester City in the final. This season Chelsea started off well but their slump is clearly visible now and it showcased during the horrible 1-0 victory over Crystal Palace.

The team showed an alarming trend despite having the support of key players after the international break, Romelu Lukaku, Christian Pulisic, Kai Havertz, Hakim Ziyech and Timo Werner were all part of the squad that took on Palace and still their attack lacked the required edge. Manager Thomas Tuchel defended the team’s display by insisting that they are fatigued or dealing with jet lag and illnesses. One thing is clear despite the win Chelsea seems to have dropped out of the title race which involves Man City and Liverpool now and Blues are disappointing fans by being involved in the top-four chase.
