Under the terms of the agreement, the 16-year-old player will only see the change effective when he reaches the age of majority.

Chelsea remember that Páez made his debut this year in the senior national team of Ecuador, scoring a goal in the six games played.
In the under-17 Copa América, he was captain and author of two goals and six assists. He also participated in the under-20 World Cup, starting four games played by Ecuador, with one goal and three assists.
In 2022, he was named best player at the Next Generation Trophy, a youth tournament held in Austria.
