Cologne climbs into 6th place in Bundesliga

Cologne takes sixth place on the Bundesliga table as Jan Thielmann scored an injury-time goal to see of virus-hit Hertha with a 3-1 triumph on Sunday. This is Cologne’s third straight win in the lead and leapfrogged Union Berlin on goal difference with two other goals from Anthony Modeste and former Hertha player Ondrej Duda.

Hertha missed a lot of key players because of the coronavirus infections that hit the squad during the week. Hertha was barely the team that took down Borussia Dortmund earlier. While Darida did manage to pull one back early in the second half with a free-kick. Uth was even denied a close-range shot as Hertha’s goalkeeper saved the shot. Later on, Hertha failed to overcome the other side.
