The news from Russia was not the one Inter hoped for, but Calciomercato.com writes that the Nerazzurri might be forced to find a new solution for the Portuguese midfielder.
The 27-year-old moved on loan to Lokomotiv Moscow ahead of the season and has claimed he doesn’t want a return to Inter, but the Russian side’s President has revealed the financial issues has led to new plans.
“We must pull the brakes and can’t afford big investments,” patron Anatoly Mescheriakov said, according to Calciomercato.com. “It’s unthinkable to sign both [PSG loanee Grzegorz] Krychowiak and Joao Mario. I would add that there will be eight departures”.
Joao Mario therefore looks set for a return to Inter but will most likely be shipped again but the club will most likely not get the full amount of €18m in the previous deal with Lokomotiv.
