Conference League: Crystal Palace, edge past AZ 3-1

Crystal Palace produced a convincing display to secure a 3-1 victory over AZ Alkmaar in the Conference League on Thursday. Playing at their home ground of Selhurst Park, the Eagles were lifted by goals from Maxence Lacroix and a double from Ismaila Sarr. Sven Mijnans netted a consolation goal for the visitors.

The win propels Crystal Palace up to ninth in the league standings on six points, moving them to the brink of the automatic qualification places for the knockout stage. Meanwhile, AZ Alkmaar finds themselves down in 26th place with just three points, currently outside the running for a spot in the playoff round.
