Chelsea announced on Wednesday the dismissal of their German coach Thomas Tuchel, a day after a humiliating defeat against Dinamo Zagreb (1-0) in the Champions League.
Tuchel, 49, is sacked after a very mixed start to the season for the Blues, who have nevertheless spent heavily on the transfer market with around €300m invested in the transfer window for the likes of Raheem Sterling, Wesley Fofana or Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang.
But according to 'Bild', relations between Blues owner Todd Boehly and the German manager cooled down several weeks ago, when the manager refused to sign Cristiano Ronaldo.
In fact, the quoted source says that the American owner of the London club was involved in the recruitment of the Portuguese ace. A transfer that, economically, could have brought Chelsea a lot of money, mainly in the sale of shirts and marketing products.
