Pardew stepped down from his previous role as manager of Dutch club ADO Den Haag in April after the 2019-20 season was cancelled due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
“English football specialist Alan Pardew will henceforth be part of the big red family of the Army,” the club said in a statement. “He will take the position of technical director and help with the overall development of the club.”
CSKA are the most successful team in the Bulgarian top-flight with a record 31 league titles, the last of which came in 2008.
