Emilian sides get fans back in Serie A

Games in Italy have been played behind closed doors since COVID-19 was declared a global pandemic back in March.

However, ANSA reports this evening that Stefano Bonaccini, President of the northern Emilia-Romagna region, has given the go-ahead to its teams hosting spectators again.

Restrictions mean no more than 1,000 can pass through the turnstiles when Parma and Sassuolo welcome Napoli and Cagliari to the region on Sunday.

Bologna will also be able to bring fans back to the Dall’Ara, but they begin the 2020-21 campaign with a trip to Milan on Monday.

Meanwhile, up to 13,147 will be allowed to attend the F1 Grand Prix race in the Emilian city of Imola between October 31 and November 1.
