England beats Germany by 2-0 to win in the Euro 2020 last 16 stage. Goals by Raheem Sterling and Harry Kane sends England to the Quater Finals stage as this was the first time since the 1966 World Cup final that England beat their old rivals in a knockout match. Gareth Southgate’s lineup was more on the cautious side with five-man defense and two midfielders. Sterling was a force to be reckoned with on the field he first tested Manuel Neuer in the 16th minute which was saved by the Germany goalkeeper.
Even if Germany enjoyed possessions England was still more of a threat on the field. Around halftime, Kai Havertz found Timo Werner and tried to net past England goalkeeper Jordan Pickford, who saved the goal and kept the sheet clean. Then Sterling put England ahead, and later Grealish set up Kane for the second goal.
