Ever Banega wants to remain at Sevilla

The Argentina international has been linked with a return to his native country, with his current deal at the Estadio Ramon Sanchez Pizjuan expiring at the end of the season.

However, despite being linked with boyhood club Boca Juniors in recent weeks, the 31-year old told an interview with Goal - via Mundo Deportivo - that he wants to stay in Spain.

"Seville is the best place I have felt whilst playing in Europe.I have not yet discussed my contract renewal with the club, but I am calm about the situation.I have told the club that I want to stay, and they know my intentions. My family is happy here and I want to keep my career going at the club."

Banega, who had a six year stint with Valencia and a season long spell with Atletico Madrid, returned to Sevilla in 2017, having played there between 2014 and 2016.
