Cesc Fabregas travelled to Monaco yesterday, with the former Spanish international aiming to complete a move to the principality within 48 hours. The 31-year-old's current club Chelsea have yet to finalise terms with Monaco - the London outfit want a fee of 10 million euros, which the 2016 French champions are unwilling to pay
Nonetheless, Fabregas is likely to sign a two-and-a-half-year contract until June 2021, according to French newspaper L'Équipe, and is keen to be reunited with former Arsenal teammate Thierry Henry, who is now the coach of Monaco.
Separately, Monaco officials on Saturday denied the club was planning on signing former Real Madrid defender Pepe, who has been released by Besiktas.
