Fernandez transfer talks are brewing between Real Madrid and Manchester City

The Argentine midfielder is apparently being watched closely by Real Madrid and Manchester City, who are among his potential suitors. Despite beginning his young career with Club La Recova, Enzo Fernandez spent nearly all of his formative years with River Plate. The 21-year-old spent more than 15 years with the Argentine giants. This summer, he secured his move to Europe by signing with Benfica.

With only six appearances into his time with Benfica, the Argentine midfielder has already made an impact. His three goals in those six games are an outstanding total for a box-to-box midfielder. A number of the most prestigious teams in Europe, notably Real Madrid and Manchester City, have expressed interest in Fernandez as a result of his accomplishments. In the ongoing transfer window, Real Madrid briefly contemplated acquiring Enzo Fernandez. However, after bringing in Antonio Rudiger and Aurelien Tchouameni, they have stopped spending on transfers for the summer.
