Feyenoord begin search for Van Persie successor

With Robin van Persie departing, Feyenoord have begun evaluating candidates to lead the club into next season’s Champions League under new technical director Devy Rigaux and general manager Robert Eenhoorn. Dream options include Arne Slot, the most successful Feyenoord coach of the century, though his Premier League profile makes a return unlikely. Oliver Glasner, fresh from winning the Conference League with Crystal Palace, and former Morocco boss Walid Regragui also fall into the aspirational category.

More realistic names include Dick Schreuder, who guided NEC Nijmegen to a historic Champions League qualification, and Jon Dahl Tomasson, a club legend with managerial experience in Sweden and England. Belgian coach Sebastien Pocognoli, recently crowned champion with Union Saint‑Gilloise, is another strong contender.

Dark‑horse options feature Will Still, Paul Simonis and Sandro Wagner, all young managers seeking the right platform. Feyenoord’s leadership now face a crucial decision as they shape the club’s next chapter.
