FIFA opens disciplinary proceedings against Argentina for WC celebrations

According to the FIFA communiqué, at stake is a possible disrespect for the organization's media and marketing rules, which occurred during the mixed zone after the final, in which the Argentine players refused to speak to foreign journalists and also damaged the material that was on site.

"A disciplinary process has been opened to investigate the existence of offensive conduct and violation of the principles of fair play by Argentina," reads the statement.

On December 18 of last year, in the final of the 2022 World Cup, in Lusail, the Argentine team won the trophy after beating France 4-2 on penalties, after the 3-3 recorded in extra time.

The French federation also complained about the behavior of South American players, especially for alleged disrespectful attitudes towards striker Kylian Mbappé.
