FIFA have received and analysed the official reports from the match between Senegal and Egypt. They have escalated the matter to the relevant disciplinary team within the organisation after it was discovered that lasers were pointed in the faces of the Egyptian players during the penalty shootout at the end of the match. Senegal subsequently won the shootout and qualified for the Qatar World Cup.
"FIFA is currently in the process of analysing the official World Cup qualifiers match reports. The relevant information included in them will be evaluated by the disciplinary body before deciding the next steps going forward", indicated FIFA sources to 'EFE'.
Senegal qualified for Qatar 2022 after winning the shootout 3-1.
During the final shootout, in which Salah and Sayed missed the target and the Senegal keeper, Mendy, stopped Mohamed's shot, the Senegal fans pointed lasers in the faces of the Egyptian penalty takers.
