Fiorentina’s 3-1 victory over Sassuolo

Prior to their Conference League Final matchup against West Ham United on 7 June, the Viola altered their lineup to some extent. They were without injured Salvatore Sirigu and Antonin Barak due to the virus, while the hosts were without Armand Lauriente and Agustin Alvarez.

After ten minutes, Arthur Cabral came dangerously close to scoring when a left-side cross was met with his head. Jonathan Ikone and Cabral both had shots that were just wide, but Sassuolo got into the game, and Andrea Pinamonti narrowly missed the crossbar on the turn. Alessandro Russo, the custodian, could only push an Aleksa Terzic cross from the left into the path of Cabral, who finished with a tap-in from six yards to give Fiorentina the lead early in the second half. Ikone should have made it 2-0 shortly after, but he held off until the angle was tight and Russo had time to parry with his legs.
