Fonseca: 'Roma players must fight'

Roma fell to their second straight loss, which has all-but-ended their hopes of Champions League football through the league route next season.

“I’d make the same selections again,” Fonseca said after the game.

“There were players who weren’t in the right condition to play this game. We didn’t start it well. After the goal we conceded and the red card, it all became very difficult, but I still believe in the project here. We’ve created an identity that, right now, can’t be seen. We still have objectives for this season. When we don’t win, we must be prepared for the criticism. I must be the first to change this situation. There are no excuses. Whoever plays for Roma must understand that they must fight until the death. I have faith in all the players. It’s not good to change so many of them”.
