Footballer kicked out of club after his Panenka penalty was saved

Independiente de Campo Grande player Brendix Parra has been ousted by his club after his failed attempt to beat the La Equidad goalkeeper Diego Novoa with a Panenka penalty in the Copa Sudamericana.

The Colombian team qualified on penalties against the Paraguay second-tier club and the latter's president Eriberto Gamarra explained the reason behind the board's decision to part ways with the player, after Novoa stopped the kick comfortably with his chest.

"The board of directors decided to dismiss Brendix Parra for the way he kicked the penalty," he told ABC Cardinal. "If we had qualified to the next round each player would have earned a bit of money"

The Venezuelan outfielder is now waiting for his contract to be officially terminated by the club to find his next destination."It's a difficult situation, but life goes on" the player said.
